RAWA Solidarity Scotland is a grassroots group based in Edinburgh that actively supports the Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan (RAWA).
RAWA is the oldest political/social organisation of Afghan women struggling for peace, freedom, democracy and women’s rights in fundamentalism-blighted Afghanistan since 1977.
We organise events to raise awareness of the plight of Afghan women, generate much needed financial support, and take part in other social and political activities aimed at creating positive change.
We also support and promote their call for an end to the current occupation of Afghanistan by U.S and NATO forces.

The Anarchist Black Cross was originated in Tsarist Russia to organise aid for political prisoners. In the late 1960s the organisation resurfaced in Britain, where it first worked to aid prisoners of the Spanish resistance fighting the dictator Franco’s police. Now it has expanded and groups are found in many countries around the world. We support anarchist and other class struggle prisoners by holding letter writing events and spreading information about different cases.
Edinburgh ABC started in 2011 with regular letter writing at The Forest Cafe. It had a lull in activity after The Forest Cafe closed but was rejuvenated in late 2011 for a fresh start in 2012.
You can contact us on edinburghabc [at] noflag.org.uk
Or pop into one of our regular letter writing events.

The Edinburgh Chiapas Solidarity Group is one group of many that form the 'UK Zapatista Solidarity Network' and one of many across the world which support the Zapatistas of Chiapas, South-East Mexico, in their struggle for a just and dignified life.
We do this by organising talks, film showings, benefit gigs, street stalls and direct actions as well as publishing articles. We import Zapatista produce such as coffee, clothing and jewellery for sale with the money going directly back to the 'Communities in Resistance'.

In the face of dangerous climate change caused by human activity, the Coal Action Scotland collective exists to challenge the advancement of coal as an energy source.
We aim to inform people about the dangers posed by new coal, promote alternatives, work with those involved, and directly challenge new coal exploitation from source to point of use.
